What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements. However CrossFit is more than just varied exercises done with high intensity. It is a community where clients are considered athletes despite their background. These athletes develop bonds by suffering through a brutal workout and give each other support and encouragement. They help hold the other athletes accountable and provide friendly competition in a nonjudgemental atmosphere.

Every year thousands of people in Little Rock start off the year with resolutions to lose weight, get fit, complete a marathon, etc. By April more than half of those same people have lost all motivation. Why is this? It is my belief that people either; do not set realistic goals, do not possess the knowledge to achieve those goals, or life situations take the focus off of reaching those goals. A second question along this same subject is why do people set goals and not set them as a priority? The answer can be summed up with one word, “Fear”. Fear of Failure, fear of success, fear of the unknown, fear in general. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Do the thing and you will have the power.” CrossFit is unmatched at getting individuals over the fear and help kick start the “do” and it carries over to normal everyday life, not just a workout in a gym. If you fall into the new year resolution group and want to try to change your lifestyle and want some support, try out Rock City CrossFit.

We don’t do any specific training unless you would be interested in personal training which is 45$ an hour. Either way you will improve all of the above mentioned. Email us at scott@rockcitycrossfit.com for more details.
